COSHIP Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: April 22, 2026 
 
Article 1. Scope of Services 
COSHIP provides international air and ocean transportation services between Canada and the Republic of Korea. 
Depending on the shipment route, COSHIP may act as a carrier or as a logistics intermediary working with partner carriers such as UPS, airlines, ocean carriers, and customs brokers. 
 
Article 2. Customer Responsibilities 
Customers must provide accurate sender and recipient information, shipment contents, declared value, weight, and dimensions. 
COSHIP is not responsible for delays, customs issues, additional charges, returns, or disposal caused by inaccurate or incomplete information. 
 
Article 3. Customs Clearance 
All international shipments are subject to customs inspection. 
Unless otherwise specified, duties and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient. 
COSHIP does not guarantee successful customs clearance. 
 
Article 4. Prohibited and Restricted Items 
All shipments must comply with Canadian, Korean, and international shipping regulations. 
Undeclared restricted items may be returned or disposed of without compensation. 
Lithium batteries cannot be shipped alone. 
 
Article 5. Packaging Responsibility 
Proper packaging suitable for international transportation is the responsibility of the customer. 
COSHIP is not responsible for damage caused by insufficient packaging. 
 
Article 6. Fragile and Oversized Items 
Fragile items (e.g., glass, frames, electronics), televisions, and oversized cargo have limited eligibility for compensation unless additional insurance has been purchased. 
 
Article 7. Use of Third-Party Carriers 
Portions of transportation may be performed by partner carriers including airlines, ocean carriers, railways, trucking companies, courier services, and customs brokers. In such cases, the terms and conditions of the respective carrier may apply to that specific segment of transit. 
 
 
Article 8. Compensation Limits 
[International Moving Services] 
Compensation for moving cargo is handled exclusively through the insurance provider for insured shipments only. 
 
[Courier/Parcel Services] 
Standard Courier services do not include separate insurance. Compensation limits are as follows: 
*Canada > Korea : up to the declared value or a maximum of CAD $400 for total loss. 
*Korea > Canada (Air): up to the declared value or a maximum of CAD $100 for total loss. 
The declared value is for customs purposes and does not constitute insurance coverage. 
Partial loss or damage is not eligible for compensation for courier shipments. 
 
Article 9. Insurance 
Insurance can be requested at the time of shipment acceptance and added up until the shipment departs from the point of origin. 
(Note: Insurance is not available for standard courier/parcel services.) 
 
Article 10. Courier Shipment Cancellation Policy 
Air Courier Service : if a customer asks to cancel the service before the shipment leaves COSHIP’s warehouse, courier service fee will be fully refundable.  
Ocean Courier : If a cancellation is requested before vessel loading, service fee will be fully refundable. 
Non-Refundable Fees: Pickup fees and packing material costs are non-refundable regardless of the cancellation timing. 
Post-Dispatch: Once a shipment has been dispatched, cancellations and refunds are not available. 
Unsent Shipment Retrieval: Upon cancellation, the customer is responsible for picking up the unsent shipment from COSHIP's designated facility. 
This Article does not apply to international moving services. Please refer to Article 11. 
 
Article 11. International Moving Service Cancellation Policy 
10+ days before pickup: Full refund (provided packing materials are unused). 
9–7 days before pickup: The deposit is non-refundable. 
6–1 day before pickup: A penalty equal to four (4) times the deposit amount is payable. 
On the scheduled pickup date: A penalty equal to six (6) times the deposit amount is payable. 
 
If packing materials are used: 
Boxes: CAD $10 per box 
Packing materials: CAD $50 
Material pickup service: CAD $100  
will be charged. 
 
If cancellation is due to the Company’s responsibility: 
The deposit will be fully refunded. 
 
Article 12. Delivery Time 
Transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. 
COSHIP is not responsible for delays caused by customs inspections, airline schedule changes, port congestion, weather conditions, or events beyond its control. 
 
Article 13. Undeliverable Shipments 
Shipments may be returned or disposed of if delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect address, recipient refusal, unpaid duties, or customs clearance failure. 
 
Article 14. Shipment Inspection 
Shipments may be inspected without prior notice when required by applicable regulations. 
If a shipment is selected for inspection by customs authorities, all associated inspection fees are the responsibility of the shipper (owner of the goods). 
 
Article 15. Limitation of Liability 
COSHIP is not responsible for indirect damages, business losses, customs issues, improper packaging, prohibited items, or force majeure events. 
 
Article 16. Rate Changes 
Shipping rates and service policies may change without prior notice. 
 
Article 17. Website Use 
Information on the website is provided for general guidance only and may change without notice. 
 
Article 18. Privacy Protection 
Personal information is handled in accordance with COSHIP Privacy Policy: 
www.coship.ca/privacy 
 
Article 19. Governing Law 
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. 
However, where services are requested or provided in another country, mandatory local laws of that country may take precedence where applicable.
